Auf Katzen folgen Mäuse… oder war es umgekehrt? Egal! Während die Ballerina Kitten sich von ihrem Muskelkater erholen, bemüht sich dieses kleine Kerlchen um den Käse.
Diese Figur geht dank der wunderbaren Anleitung „Morris the mouse“ von Janice Cyr (Madison’s Craft Nook, Etsy) wirklich schnell. Ich habe die Arme und Beine fest gefüllt und nur punktuell – über Knöpfe, wie in der Anleitung vorgesehen – mit dem Körper verbunden, um möglichst viele Positionen inszenieren zu können. Für eine „bespielbare“ Figur sollten die Gliedmaßen nur unten fest, nach oben abnehmend gefüllt, und vollständig am Körper angebracht werden. Das macht die Figur langlebiger und sie übersteht dann auch eventuelles Zerren an Armen und Beinen ohne Amputationsgefahr. Beim flächigen Anbringen der Beine (seitlich nach unten oder vorne) muss man sich allerdings entscheiden, ob die Figur vorwiegend sitzend oder stehend präsentiert werden soll. Über Gelenkscheiben habe ich nachgedacht, aber aufgrund der geringen Größe Abstand davon genommen.

How to crochet a cheese corner:

Work in rows. Two pieces will be joined together.

The Crust (dark yellow yarn)

Start with 16 ch + 1 ch, turn
R 1: start 2nd ch from hook, sc until end, turn (16)
R 2-5: ch, 2nd ch from hook, sc until end, turn (16)
R 6: ch, 2nd ch from hook, BLO, sc until end, turn (16)
R 7-14: ch, 2nd ch from hook, sc until penultimate, dec, turn
always decrease at the end of each row
R 15: 2sc (2)
R 16: sc in last st, FO, no tail needed.

Turn work & start crochetting in the first 16 ch, BLO
continue with R 7-16 like discribed above, FO, no long tail needed.

The Creamy Inside (light yellow yarn)

Start with 5 ch, turn
R 1-17: ch, sc 5 start in 2nd ch from hook, turn (5)
R 18: ch, sc 5 BLO start in 2nd ch from hook, turn (5)
R 19-36: ch, sc 5 start in 2nd ch from hook, turn (5)
FO & leave a tail for sewing.

Merge the Cheese:

Sew both parts together, starting with R 1 of the creamy inside to R 1-5 of the crust. Sew around & Stuff the cheese as you go – at least before closing the last inch.

Cheese Crumb (not suitable for little children):

Rnd 1: light yellow yarn start 7 sc in a mr (7)
Rnd 2: inc 7 times (14)
make sure to hide the tail in the increases as you go. The workpiece will be to small to sew the tail.
Rnd 3: 8 sc, change to dark yellow yarn 6 inc* (20)
FO with a sl, thight tail and cut off.
